Hey…..I’m laying on this workout mat after these 50 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training feeling exhausted. Give me a moment to catch my breath. The trainer has us stretching our hamstrings and hips as this lower body focused workout rendores soreness in my near future–like as soon as I get off of this floor–future!
This class is fun and yet, so challenging. If I would look around the room, I could tell you who was absent. People run away from hard work so some of these people may not be back next week.
I may have never introduced myself to some of these women but the wonders begin to circulate in my mind concerning where the lady is who works out with a whole pregnant belly without many modifications. Or where is the man who randomly stops to breathe between the sets because he can’t keep up with the ladies? I mean, no offense, but try bringing your husband or invite any random man to this class. He just might embarrass you or just himself! Can you guess what my husband does to me? Love you, boo!
You may not think that people are paying you any attention. If a young child can recognize when their classmate is not at school for an extended period of time, other adults notice when your energy and temperament is missing. No one is really unseen.
People may tell you that your presence doesn’t matter. You may even think that being alone is better than being with a group, but I have learned through experience that presence matters. Who you are matters.
Who you are pushes others to change. Some can handle it and some can’t. Keep pushing because someone is looking and expecting you to keep showing up.
Until next time, #loveworkswhenourwordsdont! 💚
